Cluetrain Manifesto

By rccola

In regards to question to find the ‘Cluetrain Manifesto’, I found a description on Wikipedia found here.  Wikipedia describes the manifesto as a collection of 95 theses by different authors brought together in a book titled ‘The Cluetrain Manifesto’.  The purpose of the manifesto was ‘a call to action’ to all businesses to examine the impact of the Internet on consumers and businesses.  It is supposedly the first book written as a sequel to a website, sounds kinda strange huh?

After doing a little more research I found a more lengthy explanation of the book found here.  The following is a quote from the Foreward written by Thomas Petzinger, Jr.

“It reveals how the Internet has made your entry-level employees as powerful as your senior vice president of marketing.”

The book is said to make you squirm after it reveals the impact the Internet will have on the future of commerce.   Sounds like an interesting read. I’m surprised its not on Lowell’s course requirements (hope that doesn’t give him any ideas).

I like the use of the 95 theses in the book in reference to Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation. It gives it more focus on how much a change the Internet has made on the business world and consumerism.
